Flat style, High Tech
License Plates coming to Nebraska
No denying it, this is the future. States are
opting to lose the embossed style of plates (that we love) in favor
of a cheaper to produce, high tech style of plate with bar codes.
If you like embossed plates, get them soon. We predict embossed
plates will become more sought after by collectors as the
available supply dries up and goes to flats.

Plate Design Rejected in FLORIDA
Florida lawmakers rejected a new plate design that
pictured of a shark that looked like it came from the Jaws movie.
The original design for a 'Save our Seas' Specialty License Plate,
they feared, might scare off tourists.

TEXAS joins 44 other
states in switching to Aluminum License Plates
Texas has consistently had one of the heaviest, all
steel license plates, weighing in at about half a pound each.
Now they will weigh less than half of that, and will be cheaper to
produce. The heavy steel plates, like Nebraska, S. Dakota and
Alabama produce, will soon be a rarity.
